RIX Research & Media came to me to design and illustrate their annual newsletter cover. It needed to stand out, be colourful and catch the essence of what RIX is all about (multi-media advocacy). As part of this project, I sifted through and selected some photos to include too. We agreed it could centre around one of their associate co-researchers, Adjoa so she crops up in photographic, icon and illustrative form! This also helps bring in an element of cohesion, unifying the mixed media approach.
40 Ideas for Using RIX Wikis at Home and in School
In addition to the cover, the newsletter came with a pamphlet entitled ’40 ideas for using RIX Wikis at home and in school.’ For this, they needed 40 colourful icons to support the copy and help bring it all to life visually. This was a really fun job. I drew everything out by hand, then coloured it digitally in Photoshop.
Results
The RIX team printed numerous copies of the newsletter and pamphlet in full colour to send to all their contacts. They were full of interesting articles and handy tips, supported by colourful visuals to appeal to their audience.
