I had a wonderful time working on these GIFs with the British Library! These were used for their social media campaign to help promote their Harry Potter: A History of Magic exhibition. I was provided with the original illustrations from the British Library & was given free reign to come up with ideas for the animations. Following development of the storyboards, and feedback from the team, I went ahead to complete the final versions. Released at regular intervals throughout their campaign, these playful GIFs brought in some of the highest engagement rates they had ever seen.
I also worked with the BL team to help create their digital escalator panel ads for the London Underground. See these further below or you can skip to them here!
Digital Escalator Panel Ads
Following my work on the GIFs, I was excited to work with the team once again. This time on their digital escalator panel ads for the London Underground…
The animation involved a simple motion of the Phoenix, timed to be in sync with the speed of the escalator. I also put in some mist effects and little twinkles to reveal the call to action. I worked at a large scale in After Effects, dividing the piece up into 5 separate screens ready for rendering/delivery. The Phoenix flew down on one side & up on the other, so 10 separate videos were required. These sequences of videos could then be duplicated to populate all the escalator panels. It was quite fun to watch these for real!
