Animations and Hands!

By motion design, personal work

Since the last animation post (Rix Wiki Animation) I have completed 2 more animations – a re-modified version of the EHC animation for Worcestershire County Council and an animation that helps to explain and promote two apps for SAS Apps. Both of these have been well received. For the SAS Apps animation I was instructed to incorporate a lot of the design icons already created for use within the apps and their website – and to keep to the same colour scheme. This helped speed up the process my end and allowed for a greater cohesion across their products. Here are some screenshots below (please see the work page for the animation itself). This project had a relatively fast turnaround time of 3 – 4 weeks so it certainly kept me on my toes! It was a joy to work on 🙂

Currently, I have a couple of new animations that I have commenced work on. An animation of a new style for Nottinghamshire, which explains a pathway for children with concerning behaviours and an “Outcomes Meeting” animation for Oxfordshire County Council (explaining the process of a meeting to do with the EHC Plan). This animation will be in the stick character style utilised for several of my previous animations.

“Making Complexity Simple”

My focus for all this sort of work is on “Making Complexity Simple” – condensing down dense information into aesthetically pleasing, fun and easily accessible animations to enable audiences to understand services and/or products with much greater clarity.

Hands

Now for hands! Hands are especially tricky to draw so it has been one of my New Years Resolution to get better at them. I’m happy to report I have now made some headway on this by producing the study of my hand below. This should come in as fairly “handy” reference from time to time – excuse the pun 😉
